Manar Osman

I am a Bowen Therapy practitioner and a full member of the Bowen Therapy Professional Association (BTPA).

Bowen Therapy Professional Association

My career began in medicine and I completed my medical degree in Egypt in general medicine and surgery in 2004 but relocated to the UK with our children partway through my Masters in paediatrics in 2011 due to my husband working in research for various UK Universities.

My interest in Bowen developed when my son, who is an elite squash player, became injured and we took him to Kathryn Phillips in Kenilworth to look at his knee in August 2017.  The whole process was 'whole body', which I found very different to the way we look at things in medicine, and in January 2019 he won his first international championship: 'Under 13 boys'. That same year my daughter who had also been receiving Bowen won the British 'Under 11 girls'. By now I was extremely interested in learning more, and my husband also who is their coach.

In November 2019 I began my training in Bowen! During that training I developed a great deal of hands-on experience in clinic in Kenilworth working on people from a wide range of backgrounds and with very different health histories aged from 11 to people in their 80s and, now fully qualified, I am enjoying developing my skills further with lots of CPD and bringing in my interest in paediatrics also.

I am a registered Bowen Therapist with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) as the self-regulatory body for a range of specific therapies including Bowen therapy and have been working from the clinic in Kenilworth since 2019.

Clients ranging from a few weeks old to well into their 90s, a mix of gender, elite and everyday sports people, many manual workers (builders, engineers, electricians, plumbers, tree surgeons), many medical staff, lots of office workers and a significant number of those who are retired. Those doing DIY or those undergoing and/or recovering from injury or surgery and more - our doors are open to all.

I have been working voluntarily supporting Kenilworth School in relation Covid-19 testing.

Therapies

Bowen Therapy.

Bowen Technique

Bowen therapy is a soft tissue remedial therapy that involves the therapist using fingers or thumbs to move over muscle, ligament, tendon and fascia in various parts of the body. This therapy can be effective to help relieve everyday stresses and revitalise the whole person.

Each Bowen therapy session varies according to the particular problems of the client. By focusing on the lower and mid back and legs, the upper back, shoulders and the neck, a sense of wellbeing can be achieved, helping relaxation, aiding sleep – helping to remove everyday stress and anxiety that can make us feel under-par or prevent us functioning at our optimum.
